tldr: the Internet Archive/WayBack Machine is super important in term of archived content, billions of stuff are on there, and with the current event happening in the world like stated above, without this tool, it will be hard to properly document what took place. It will be easy for certain people to rewrite history. Dont let them.

they’re being sued due to putting together an “emergency library”, essentially, in the wake of schools and libraries closing due to covid-19.
you can read about it in a few places. here’s one article on the subject, but there’s plenty to be found.
Hey I just went to look to see if there was any new developments since this was posted (June 2020), And the actual trial as far as I know the trial will begin around November 2021. So this is still relevant. Archive.org Blog | Publisher’s Weekly
fourth wall breaks are almost always used for comedy. but what if they were used for horror as well.
consider a story where the characters are gradually made aware of how completely their very existence depends on the whims of an all-powerful, not necessarily merciful, author who cannot be reasoned or bargained with. perhaps they first realize that the only memories they have are those specifically written for them. then maybe they start to see the narrowness of the path they’re confined to by the plot. and as they become more aware of the nature of their existence, they realize that everything they do is determined - even if they rebel against the choices presented to them, it isn’t really their own free will, but that of the author. and eventually they understand that not only are they entirely trapped in the narrative the author writes for them, but being used for entertainment by watchers who are almost equally powerless - except they chose to stay and watch. and finally, they look directly into your eyes, utterly hopeless and betrayed - and there the story ends.
This is a big, giant list of Youtube tutorials that will teach you all the basic life skills you need to know in order to be a functional adult. There are a lot of important skills that aren’t included in this list, but this should be enough of a basic guide to get you started and prevent you from making a total mess of yourself. Happy adulting!
If there’s ever anything you want that isn’t on this list…youtube it. Everyone always comments on my handiness, but everything I know comes from an old guy and his iphone.
So you don’t have to watch the video every time you need one of these hacks immediately:
1. If you feel nauseated, smell rubbing alcohol.
2. If you feel like throwing up, start humming.
3. If you have a runny nose, put your tongue to the roof of your mouth and press your thumb to your forehead for about 20 seconds.
4. If you have a headache, pinch the webbing between your fingers and rub it back and forth for about 1 minute.
5. If you’re lightheaded from standing up too quickly, clench your butt cheeks.
6. If your arm’s dead/has the pins and needles feeling, rock your head back and forth.
7. If you need to pee badly, think of sex to trick your brain and relieve the pressure.
8. If you have a migraine, stick your hands in ice water.
9. If you wanna calm your racing heart, blow on your thumb.
If you’re lightheaded while standing up, opening and closing your fists is also something to do. Also try stretching before getting up!
(These are vasovagal syncope tricks, to get the blood pumping where it should be)
Thanks for adding another hack!
I used the humming one when I randomly started dry heaving today, and that shit worked so fast!👌🏼
A trick I have used often when I stand up too fast/start to see my vision black out is to quickly hold my hands up over my head. A doctor taught me this, it has always helped!
Egypt’s first female ship captain Marwa Elselehdar has been falsely accused as being the captain of the Ever Given by some foreign media, in a story that went viral and garnered a lot of hate towards her.
The only problem? She was 370km away at the time, acting as the first mate of another ship (Aida IV) and had nothing to do with the situation in the Suez Canal.
I think we should all help spread this, since some people are still sharing the malicious slanderous fake posts about her!
*******PLEASE DON’T LEAVE DISHES OF SUGAR WATER OUT*******
Post from a beekeeper
Oh dear - I keep hearing tips about leaving bowls of sugar water out to “help” keep bees hydrated. Please, please, please DON’T. Bees are really good at finding what they need and there are so many reasons not to do this. The MOST IMPORTANT reason is that if you within 3 miles of some hives (and most people are) if the bees find the sugar water they’re going to think its a great source of easy food, go back to the hive and recruit more bees to come and collect the “food” and before you know it you’ll have 1.000s and 1,000s of bees descending on your garden/balcony - a very scary sight. This is known as robbing and as beekeeper I’ve seen this a couple of times - once started it is impossible to stop until the source of the “food” has gone.
Other reasons not to do this are - sugar water is essentially “junk” food for bees. Its full of carbohydrates which will give them an energy burst, but has no other nutritional value unlike the food they should be having i.e. nectar.
Honey bees will store this as honey in the hive. The beekeeper unknowingly may end up extracting and selling this as honey later in the year. You don’t want to buy sugar syrup and the beekeeper doesn’t want to be prosecuted for selling a product which isn’t honey.
This is also an easy food source for social wasps.
By all means give a tired bee a drink of sugar water on a spoon, but please don’t leave it out for them.
If you want to help bees there are lots of ways you can do this from planting nectar rich plants or leaving out bowls of water with gravel/small pebbles in so they can access the water which they would be very grateful for.
PLEASE SHARE THIS AND TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS
Edited - It appears that a lot of the advice I have seen about leaving out sugar water stems from advice from DAVID ATTENBOROUGH. He was absolutely right in his advice, but his advice was if you see a struggling bee to put some sugar water where the bee could reach it - not to leave out bowls of sugar water. Unfortunately it seems like, as usual, media publications have misquoted advice and not done their research
Also please don’t feed bees honey. Surprisingly they don’t eat honey - they eat nectar. Honey bees make honey for their own use during the winter months, but bumble bees collect and use nectar as and when they need it.
